KotKompas
LaravelFilamentLivewireTailwind
— Intro
KotKompas is my graduation project for the full-stack programme at Syntra-PXL, built in a team of three. Many landlords of student rooms in Belgium still run everything from Excel sheets and WhatsApp. Students search on sites that stop at the listing.
Our market research showed that no Belgian or Dutch platform combines search with full rental management. KotKompas does both. Students find a room and contact the owner directly, without an agency. Landlords manage buildings, rooms, tenants and messages in one dashboard.
— Objectives
- Design one visual language across the public site, the login flow and the Filament dashboard
- Build search with filters and a list, grid and map view
- Add social login with Google and Facebook
- Build the Kotscore: anonymous reviews after a lease that score both the landlord and the building
- Build the landlord dashboard with statistics and featured listings
We delivered KotKompas in June 2026. The full loop works: search, contact, chat and management, with subscriptions through Stripe. The next steps would be contract generation and a launch with real landlords.
